Campus Security
Security at the College is functional 24 hours throughout the week, with two shifts, day shift and night shift. The department is headed by the College Security Officer who is directly responsible to the College security personnel both internally and externally hired.
The major key role of the Security department at the College is;
To ensure safety of life and property of the College Staff, students and visitors.
Tasks Performed
Watching and monitoring the College premises which includes;
- Patrolling around College premises/ boundaries
- Controlling access to the college to ensure no intruder comes in
- Deterring wrong activities along the fence and in the College compound
- Securing clients property and life while in hours of visiting the College
- Fire protection to avoid loss of property and lives
- Receiving and directing visitors to responsible officers
- Opening and closing the gate to allow clients access the institution
- Checking clients and vehicles thoroughly accessing the Institution and those exiting
- Issuing visitors cards to Visitors accessing the college
- Checking and ensuring that security lights are on.
Security Procedures
VISITORS
- The visitors must observe the SOPs at the gate
- Requesting Visitors to be checked on arrival
- Declaring items, they are carrying as they enter
- Registering in the Visitors book
- Issuing Visitors card to the visitor on presentation of the identity card
- Presenting gate passes as they exit with property that needs authorization
- Signing out as they exit the institution.
STAFF
- The staff must observe the SOPs at the gate
- Request for staff to be checked and their Vehicles
- Presenting gate passes as they exit with property that needs authorization
SUDENTS
- The students must observe the SOPs at the gate
- Must Register when leaving the College and notifying the security when they report back.
- Presenting gate passes as they exit with property that needs authorization
- Entry to the College is only through the main gate and not beyond 9.00 PM
